Profesor asociado en el Departamento de Español y Portugués de la Universidad de Nueva York (NYU). Entre sus libros se encuentran Sins against Nature: Sex and Archives in Colonial New Spain (2018); Baptism Through Incision: The Postmortem Cesarean Operation in the Spanish Empire (2020); Turning Archival: The Life of the Historical in Queer Studies (2022); así como dos números especiales del Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies sobre “La política de lo obsceno en América Latina”, entre otros. Su actual proyecto de libro y archivo digital se titula Archiving the ‘Obscene’: Censorship, Erotica, and Pornography in Latin America, 1700-1955.
